Xiaomi Mijia 1S First REVIEW: King Robot Vacuum Cleaner 2019!
Back in 2016, Xiaomi introduced its first robot vacuum cleaner under Mijia brand. The robot vacuum cleaner has become a bestseller, thanks to its good performance and stylish design. Three years have passed, and it’s time to update the popular model. At the beginning of April 2019, Xiaomi released an updated version of vacuum cleaner called Xiaomi Mijia 1S.
Xiaomi Mijia 1S received a lot of updates compared to the previous version and its competitors. The new robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with voice control, improved navigation, the suction power of 2000 Pa and battery life on a single charge up to 2.5 hours. That’s not all features!

Xiaomi Mijia 1S: Design
The design of new Mijia 1S robot vacuum cleaner is almost the same as its predecessor. Perhaps the only difference in appearance is control buttons.
The new robot vacuum cleaner is made in white color with orange details and gray buttons. The dimensions of vacuum cleaner are 345 mm x 345 mm x 96 mm, and weight – 3.8 kg. Thanks to its compact dimensions, Xiaomi Mijia 1S is able to clean under the table, sofa and bed. It is also convenient to store, because it does not take up much space.
On the top panel, we see two physical control buttons: Power and Home. Also, there is a small tower, which houses a laser sensor for navigating around the apartment.
Around Xiaomi Mijia 1S are movable bumpers that prevent hard bumps on furniture or walls. Also, the side panels have a grill for air outlet and cooling the vacuum cleaner.
On the bottom panel there are three wheels – two side and central ones, as well as charging connectors, a long central brush and two side brushes to capture more debris. Trash can is located under the front panel. It is removed by the touch button on the lid.
As you can see, new Xiaomi Mijia 1S robot vacuum cleaner is almost the same as other Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaners. Now let’s talk about new functions.
Xiaomi Mijia 1S: Functions
The new robot vacuum cleaner is powered by quad-core Conrtex-A35 processor. According to the manufacturer, it provides 40% higher performance than the previous model of vacuum cleaner.
Brushless Nidec motor provides 2000 Pa suction power. By the way, we wrote about another new robotic vacuum cleaner from Xiaomi called Roborock T6, and it has the same suction power.
Xiaomi Mijia 1S cleans not only flat surfaces, but also on carpets, and also collects hair and animal hair. This is one of the most important updates, because Mijia 1S is able to clean the house from allergens.
As for navigation, Xiaomi Mijia 1S received an improved LDS sensor. It scans the room much faster, more accurately and creates a cleaning map. The new navigation system makes the cleaning process 13% more efficient compared to the previous version of Xiaomi Mijia vacuum cleaner.
Another interesting feature is AI Image Recognition. A new robot vacuum cleaner recognizes and remembers every room and door. Most likely, this technology is used for better orientation of robot vacuum cleaner in apartment.
As we wrote earlier, Xiaomi Mijia 1S supports voice control. Now you can control the robot vacuum cleaner not only using a special app called Mi Home, but also voice commands.
Robot vacuum cleaner Mijia 1S is equipped with 5200mAh battery. One charge is enough for 2.5 hours of cleaning or up to 250 square meters of space.
If the vacuum cleaner does not have time to clean the room, it automatically returns to the charging base, is recharged, and then returns to cleaning again. Full charging of the robot vacuum cleaner takes about two hours.
Xiaomi Mijia 1S: Price
A new robot vacuum cleaner Mijia 1S will go on sale soon. Its price will be about $300. This is $100 cheaper than the first version of Xiaomi Mijia at the start of sales.
Given the specifications and new features, Xiaomi Mijia 1S is a very good robot vacuum cleaner.
