Teclast T20: Design

The design of Teclast T20 reminds me the MediaPad series from Huawei. It has the similar metal back cover with plastic insert for the main camera. Personally, I really like its appearance. It is very simple and premium. The aluminum body doesn’t leave prints and dirt.

Now let’s talk about very interesting feature for the table –  fingerprint scanner. Usually, only flagship tablets from Samsung, Apple or Huawei provide fingerprint readers. Teclast T20 is the exception. It is budget tablet with premium features.

The fingerprint reader on Teclast T20 is located on the back panel. The index finger lies exactly on the scanner. The unlocking is very fast and accurate.

Also you can find slot for TF and SIM cards, 3.5 mm audio jack and stereo speakers on sides. By the way, Teclast T20 has dual speaker on right and left sides. The sound is loud and good quality. It is perfect for watching movies in a quiet room.

The tablet has 10-inch display, however dimensions and weight are very comfortable for even one-handed using.

Teclast T20: Display

As we already said, new tablet is equipped with 10.1-inch display produced by Sharp. The resolution is just amazing – it is 2.5K, 2560×1600 pixels, and pixel density of 299 PPI. The screen has a good margin for brightness, while in the room it is better to use 50-60% of brightness.

The viewing angles are great, and there are no color distortions.

As you may know, the oleophobic coating is a weak point of any budget Chinese tablet. Fortunately, Teclast T20 provides this feature. The finger slides easily over the display, while the fingerprints are quickly erased. However, the quality of coverage is still lower than flagship devices.

It is clear that the display of Teclast T20 will be inferior to any flagship tablet, such as Galaxy Tab or iPad, but don’t forget that it costs only $210. It is an excellent screen for this price.

Teclast T20: Performance

Teclast T20 is powered by new chipset MediaTek MT6797X. Its performance is great for everyday tasks and even latest Android games. It is better to choose low or medium graphics settings, but you can try high graphics. We have played videos in 1440p on YouTube, and there are no problems with playback.

The tablet has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory with TF card support. Also, there is Bluetooth 4.1 and dual 2.4GHz / 5.0GHz Wi-Fi bands. However, the main feature of Teclast T20 is dual SIM card support. You can use mobile Internet in any place.

The tablet runs on Android 7.1 Nougat without any Chinese apps. Yes, there are some apps from Teclast, but you can easily remove them.

Teclast T20: Battery

New tablet has the same battery capacity of 8100mAh as last year’s Teclast T10. From other side, Teclast T20 has USB Type-C port, so the full battery charge should take less time.

If we talk about battery life, then the tablet works about 9 hours with WiFi turned on and continuous playback of video on YouTube at 70% screen brightness.

Teclast T20: Camera

Another important improvement of Teclast T20 is cameras. New tablet received 13MP sensors on front and back panels.

The manufacturer undestands that front camera plays an imporant role for tablets, so here is high-quality sensor. You can use it for video chatting and taking selfies.

The main camera is also good. You can make decent images in daylight conditions, but at night the quality drops significantly.

Teclast T20: Sound

The manufacturer promises excellent sound quality, thanks to dual speakers on right and left sides. The sound is clear and loud, considering the speakers grilles size. It is really important for tablets, because many people use them for watching movies or videos on YouTube.

Teclast T20: Price

The tablet will go on sale tomorrow on GearBest. The price will be only $209.99 until September 23. After that price will go up to $240.

We think it is an excellent deal. Teclast T20 has high-quality display, aluminum body, new chipset, good battery life and high-quality stereo speakers.
