Teclast M16: Design
Teclast M16 has a fairly typical design for the tablet in 2019, and 2018, 2017, 2016… The only difference from its predecessors is the thin bezels around the screen. Actually, the bezels look very thin on official images, but we will know the design of tablet only when it will go on sale.
The body of new tablet is made of metal with plastic side faces. Teclast M16 is available only in black matte color.
Teclast M16 has a compact size – only 277 x 174 x 8 mm. This makes the tablet very convenient for everyday use not only at home, but also in the office, café or public transport.
The weight of the tablet is less than a kilogram – 272 grams. A good universal tablet for work and entertainment.
On the front panel of the tablet there is 11.6-inch display. Later we will talk about its specifications.
Above the display you can find a front camera.
On the back panel there is Teclast logo and tablet model number. You can also see 8-megapixel camera on the rear panel.
The speakers and microphone are located on the top of the tablet. We think it’s a very good location, because you won’t cover the speakers with your hands while using the tablet.
The users can put the tablet on their knees, and it will not affect the sound quality in any way.
You can connect an external keyboard to Teclast M16 tablet. There are special connectors on the bottom edge of the tablet.
It seems that the keyboard in the package with tablet, which is quite unusual. As a rule, the keyboard is sold additionally.
All connectors and ports are on the side faces. On the right side we can see the charging port, power on/off button and volume control rocker.
On the left side there is USB Type-C, HDMI, 3.5 mm audio port and slot for SIM-card and memory card.
To be honest, we like the design of Teclast M16. It’s compact, comfortable and stylish. The small size and metal case make it versatile and practical.
Teclast M16: Display
On the front panel of Teclast M16 is 11.6-inch display. This is an IPS panel with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
The display is touch screen, and it supports up to 10 touches. The aspect ratio is 16:9. The same display was used in the previous Teclast T30 tablet, but it had a smaller diagonal and thicker bezels.
The image on the display is perfectly visible even in direct sunlight. The user can change the brightness of the screen depending on the light.
Judging by official photo, the bezels around the display should be very thin. However, we suggest you to wait for real hands-on photos and only then draw conclusions or buy a tablet.
Teclast M16: Performance
The new Teclast M16 tablet is powered by MediaTek Helio X27 processor. This is a good quad-core processor with stable performance when running simple apps as well as heavy games.
The maximum CPU frequency is 2.6 GHz.
The tablet is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. If the built-in storage isn’t enough, you can expand it with 128 GB memory card. We think it’s more than enough to store videos, photos, apps, and more.
As we wrote earlier, one of the main advantages of Teclast M16 is Android 8.0 operating system. You can install any Android apps from Google Play Store.
By the way, thanks to SIM card support, you can use Teclast M16 tablet as an alternative to your smartphone. Although it is not very comfortable to use for calls, but 4G LTE mobile internet is very good feature.
In addition to 4G support, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 are available.
The main 8MP camera can be used to take photos and videos, while 2MP front camera is great for video calls over Skype and other apps.
The tablet has a fairly large 7500mAh battery. It lasts for about 10 hours of active use on a single charge.
Teclast M16: Price and buy
Teclast M16 tablet can already be ordered from Chinese online stores. The price is about $199. We think this is a fair price for a tablet with metal case, 11.6-inch display, Helio X27 processor, Android 8.0 and SIM card support.
If you need an inexpensive tablet for work or entertainment, Teclast M16 is a good option.
