SJRC Z5 REVIEW: Is GPS 1080p Quadcopter Under $200 Really Good?
Modern quadcopter with a camera allows filming from the air. If earlier drones were really expensive (more than $500), then today you can get quadcopter with good camera under $200.
In this article we review a new drone called SJRC Z5. It has a stylish design, a folding form and HD wide-angle 90 degree adjustable camera.

SJRC Z5 drone comes in three versions: 2.4G 720P ($159), 2.4G 1080P ($179) and 5G 1080P ($199). We decided to review SJRC Z5 2.4G 1080P, because it looks the most interesting.

SJRC Z5: Unboxing
The device is delivered in a white box. It has the image of the drone itself, its model number and some specifications. Opening the box, we see two small compartments. In one of them lies the remote control, while in the second is SJRC Z5. The drone is already in the assembled state, so you do not need to spend time assembling it.
The package includes: SJRC Z5 with 7.4V 1200mAh battery, remote control with phone holder, USB charging cable, user manual, a set of spare propellers, a screwdriver and a set of screws.
SJRC Z5: Remote controller
The remote controller, which is included, is equipped with two antennas. There is also a holder for the smartphone. The remote controller has a built-in LiPo battery; after a full charge, it provides the battery life for 10 hours.
On the front of remote controller, in addition to the standard controls, there are 4 more buttons and several LEDs for indicating various states. Next to the “Forward” button is the “Return Home” function button. There is also an automatic take-off and landing button, it is located in the upper right corner.
In the lower part there are special retractable holders. Since the remote control is small, these holders allow you to conveniently hold the device in your hands.
SJRC Z5: Design
As for the design, the drone looks quite restrained and stylish. The device comes in black color only. It has a rectangular shape and is made of matte plastic.
When unfolded, the quadcopter looks large and impressive. On the front panel we see a camera lens. On top there are four LED lights. Also, there are LEDs under the screws. They will provide good visibility during night flights.
Due to its folding form, quadcopter is easy to transport. In the folded state, its size is 19.2 x 13 x 8.3 cm and the weight is only 800 grams.
SJRC Z5: Features
According to the manufacturer, 1200mAh built-in battery of SJRC Z5 drone provides about 14 minutes flight time. The maximum flight is up to 600 meters, but the range of FPV (video) is only 100-150 meters.
The SJRC Z5 is equipped with a brushless motor, which is very silent. It has the function of recognizing gestures, but you need to be within 1-3 meters from the drone.
HD camera has a resolution of 1080P. The user can tilt the camera at 90 degrees. As we already said, when choosing the version, you should pay attention on range: 2.4G or 5G.
You can also create a flight route using the remote control. Just draw it on the screen and the drone will follow the route you specified. When you enable “Follow me” mode, the SJRC Z5 will automatically fly over you, and capturing every movement.
Thanks to the built-in RTH function, you can not be afraid of the loss of a drone. The drone will automatically return home automatically if there is a low battery or a weak signal.

SJRC Z5 is very interesting quadcopter. It is equipped with a high-resolution camera and many useful features. The drone is easy to control, so SJRC Z5 is perfect even for beginners.
