Samsung patented interactive virtual interface for smart watches

Samsung has patented an interesting technology that can significantly increase the usability of the smart watches and other small gadgets. The patent describes a smart watch that can scan and recognize the physical form of the objects around them, and then using a set of integrated projectors are projected on a virtual interface.

Simply put, a smart watches can project the functional virtual interface on the user’s wrist or even post virtual buttons on his fingers, and menu items can be scattered throughout the hand. And these examples demonstrate the work projected on a large wrist keyboard, navigation and dialer.

And the most interesting, it is not just a picture. All the projected elements are interactive. And photoelectric sensors provided by a patent allow to define “key” key user. It is not limited to the projection interface technology opportunities at hand, and you can use a table, wall or other surface as a control surface.

The developed technology will enable Samsung to minimize the inconvenience of using small screen smart watches, extending their interface to the desktop. And besides this the same technology can be used in VR-helmets, effectively combining the virtual reality and the world around us.

However, obtaining a patent is not to say that the technology is really developed and can be implemented in the near future. And often such initiatives are only used by manufacturers for the banal theft protection ideas.
