Recently, phone manufacturers follow trends too much. The new smartphone ZTE Small Fresh 5 also has dual camera at rear panel. But what it offers special? Nothing, in fact.
In most cases, the second camera responds either to a wider viewing angle or for the depth of color in monochrome (black and white). If you like to take photos in BW mode, maybe, you would like such camera, but with color reproduction or video recording, the second camera does not help at all.
So, ZTE Small Fresh 5 is interesting in terms of design and modern trends, but in fact the smartphone loses to its competitors on the market. And, there are enough reasons for this.
ZTE Small Fresh 5: Specifications
ZTE Small Fresh 5 performance is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. It is entry-level processor that runs on four cores with a clock speed of 1.4 GHz. This is enough to work with any casual games and applications, but to hope that the smartphone will be able to give more power is not worth it.
Heavy games like races or shooters are not subject to it. You can not work with images or video, the processor is not designed for this.
Also, ZTE Small Fresh 5 is available in two versions: with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, as well as 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB storage. This is a very good specs for a budget smartphone. Yes, the gadget did not go far from its competitors, but it would not be as good to lose power to them as well.
ZTE Small Fresh 5: Design
ZTE Small Fresh 5 comes in four colors: black, golden, blue and green. The variety is pleasant, but green and blue are clearly not the most popular colors.
The front panel of the gadget has a display with minimal frames on the right and left. Under the display there are three touch control keys; above it there is a camera and a speaker.
The back side was pleased with two cameras and flash. All this on a special platform is located just below the fingerprint sensor and company logo. On the side faces are control keys.
ZTE Small Fresh 5: Features
To begin with, ZTE Small Fresh 5 display diagonal is 5 inches with a resolution 1280×720 pixels. The picture quality at the highest level. You will not notice pixels or something like that, since 5 inch HD display has a decent PPI density.
New ZTE smartphone works on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with proprietary shell MiFavor UI 4.2. It is quite good firmware, but personally I like more the original Android.
The main camera on the back side at 13 megapixels shoots quite high quality. The second 2 megapixel camera is responsible for the depth.
ZTE Small Fresh 5: Conclusion
The price ZTE Small Fresh 5 is $145 for basic model. Recently we wrote about smartphones from Chinese brands with price tag $100-120 give about the same power, the same design, only there is no dual camera and branded shell. Is dual camera worth giving more money? Especially since the second camera does not really affect the quality of photos. It would be better to have a gadget with one camera, but it would be cheaper.
