OUKITEL Y4800 First REVIEW: Good Bye, Redmi Note 7!
In May 2019, OUKITEL announced its new smartphone called OUKITEL Y4800. However, it will go on sale only on July 22. The manufacturer says that OUKITEL Y4800 will become the main competitor of the popular Redmi Note 7 smartphone.
OUKITEL Y4800 is equipped with the same 6.3-inch display with waterdrop notch for the front camera, MediaTek Helio P70 processor and 4000mAh battery.
However, the main feature of new OUKITEL phone will be a dual main camera with Samsung main sensor of 48 megapixels. The smartphone will make great images even in low light conditions.
Today we will make the first review of new OUKITEL Y4800, and talk about its main features.

OUKITEL Y4800: Design
It seems that OUKITEL decided to compete with Redmi Note 7 not only in terms of camera specifications, but also in design. The new OUKITEL Y4800 has the same 6.3-inch display on the front panel. This is a Full HD+ screen with 1080 x 2340 pixels. LTPS technology is used here.
The front camera is placed under the waterdrop notch. By the way, screen to the body ratio of OUKITEL Y4800 is better than Redmi Note 7 – 90% against 81.37%. OUKITEL mobile device has noticeably thinner bezels around the screen, and this is really interesting.
The screen is protected from scratches and damage by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The aspect ratio is 19.5:9.
On the back we can see a dual main camera. The camera protrudes a bit from the case. In my opinion, this is not very good. The smartphone is unstable on the table, and the camera can be scratched on the surface. Next to the camera sensors is a round flashlight.
The fingerprint sensor is located in the center of the back panel. Also, there is Oukitel company logo at the bottom.
On the right side – the volume rocker and power key. On the left side – a slot for dual SIM and memory card.
The top face is empty because all the ports and connectors are located at the bottom: microUSB port, 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones, microphone and speaker.
The smartphone was shown only in black on official photos and videos. We hope that the Chinese manufacturer will release OUKITEL Y4800 in other brighter colors.
The dimensions of smartphone are 157 x 74.8 x 8.25 mm, and the weight is only 170 grams.
OUKITEL Y4800: Performance
The new smartphone will be powered by Helio P70 processor. This is an eight-core processor with a clock speed of up to 2.2 GHz. It scores about 142.000 points in AnTuTu benchmark.
The smartphone has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. You can also install a memory card up to 128 GB.
The performance of new Oukitel smartphone will be enough not only to perform everyday tasks, but also to run heavy games.
We also know about operating system – it will be the latest version of Android 9.0 Pie.
As for the battery, OUKITEL Y4800 is equipped with 4000mAh battery. There is support for 18W fast charging. Despite the large screen, a single battery charge will be enough for 7 hours of games, 13 hours of video playback, 23 hours of phone calls, or 150 hours of battery life in standby mode.
OUKITEL Y4800: Camera
Now let’s talk about the main feature of OUKITEL Y4800. As we already said, there is a main camera on the back, which consists of two sensors. Samsung ISOCELL GM1 48-megapixel main sensor with a pixel size of 0.8 microns. The aperture is f/1.8.
The size of the main sensor is larger than other smartphones in this price range – 1/2 inch. It means that OUKITEL Y4800 is able to capture more light, so the photos will have good brightness and color reproduction.
The second sensor is wide-angle. It has 5-megapixels and aperture of f/2.2. As you understand, the second sensor is used to capture more space in one photo.
The front camera received Samsung 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. For clear and contrast selfies, this is more than enough.
OUKITEL Y4800: Price
The manufacturer promises to start selling a new smartphone on July 22. During the first week the mobile device will be available at the price of $199. Then the price will rise to $249.
