Oukitel C18 Pro First REVIEW: Should You Buy This Smartphone?

Oukitel C18 Pro smartphone will on sale very soon – April 20. Before the official start of sales, I want to tell you about the main specifications and features of the new smartphone.

Modern design with Hole-Punch Display

Oukitel C18 Pro has the modern hole-punch display with front camera in the left top corner. There is quad camera, flashlight and fingerprint scanner in the center of the rear panel.

There are no hands-on photos or videos of the new Oukitel smartphone, so we cannot see the real bezels around the display. As you know, the Chinese manufacturer often reduce the bezels around the screen on official images. If Oukitel C18 Pro actually looks like on official images, then it is very beautiful smartphone.

Only HD+ Display

However, do not forget that Oukitel C18 Pro is a budget smartphone. The display looks stunning, but it has only HD+ resolution, 1600 x 720 pixels. The diagonal is 6.55 inches.

Actually, HD+ display is a shame for $149 smartphone. There are many mobile devices in the price category under $150 with Full HD screens.

Low Performance

The performance of Oukitel C18 Pro also does not match the price of a new smartphone. There is Mediatek Helio P25 or MTK6757 chipset. The processor was released in 2016. It is more than 4 years! Even ultra-budget phones under $100 have better processors in 2020.

As for the memory, there is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The user can use microSD memory cards up to 256GB.

I don’t believe that Oukitel C18 Pro costs $149. Looks like there has been some kind of mistake.

Quad Camera

Perhaps the camera is the main feature of the new Oukitel smartphone. At first glance, it looks good. The main camera on the back has four sensors: 16MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP.

The front camera has 16MP sensor.

There are some sample photos takes on Oukitel C18 Pro. You can see on the image below the macro camera of new smartphone. The manufacturer says that the new phone takes better macro photos than Xiaomi CC9 Pro. This is a very bold statement!

The second 8MP sensor should be wide-angle. I have already tested some budget smartphones with wide-angle cameras, and they are quite bad.

However, we do not have to jump to conclusions. Let’s wait until the official start of sales and then look at real photos.

4000mAh Battery

The battery is no surprise either. It has a capacity of only 4000mAh, which is not too big for 2020. Oukitel C18 Pro also supports only 10W charging. It is a big shame. The smartphones in 2020 should have at least 18W fast charging.

The charging time of the new Oukitel smartphone will be about 3 hours. It is very long.

Should You Buy Oukitel C18 Pro?

It is too early to answer this question, but judging by specifications, you should not buy Oukitel C18 Pro. I do not understand what the manufacturer expects when it releases the smartphone with a 4-year-old processor, HD+ display, 4000mAh battery and 10W charging for the price of $149.

Yeah, the smartphone looks very beautiful on official images with hole-punch display, thin bezels around the screen, quad camera on the back. However, the smartphones often have much bigger bezels around the display in real life than on official pictures.

I hope that Oukitel C18 Pro will cost under $100 and all camera sensors are real, otherwise, the smartphone has no any chance to find a buyer.
