The company Nvidia has announced a new mobile GPU Quadro M5500, designed to work on mobile workstations.
The new flagship graphics chip Quadro M5500 based architecture GM204 (Maxwell 2) is currently the only series of mobile solutions Quadro, the performance of which is sufficient to fully support HTC and Oculus VR-helmets.
Graphics accelerator Quadro M5500 is made on the basis of 2048 CUDA cores operating at a clock frequency of 1140 MHz, and is equipped with up to 8GB of 256-bit GDDR5 graphics memory with a frequency of 6.6 GHz. TDP processor does not exceed 150 watts.
Compared to the previous flagship Quadro M5000M on the basis of truncated by a quarter to 1,536 the number of QUDA cores, the new GPU Quadro M5500 uses every opportunity GM204 platform and can provide a performance boost of up to 40% of shader and texture scenarios, as well as provide an additional 32% of the memory subsystem performance boost .
One of the first notebooks based on the chip became M5500 Workstation MSI WT72 with a 17.3-inch screen on the basis of Intel Mobile Xeon processor.
