JJRC JJPRO X5: Design
I like the design of JJRC JJPRO X5, because the drone looks very expensive and stylish. The device is made of lightweight ABS plastic. The drone is available only in one color – light gray with black propellers and camera.
JJPRO X5 has a small size – 350 x 350 x 95 mm. It is very convenient to carry in one hand. The weight is only 400 grams. Quadcopter dimensions allow you to carry it in a backpack or small bag. On the other hand, due to the low weight of the drone, it may have problems flying in windy weather.
The design of JJPRO X5 is similar to other modern drones – the main body and four legs with props at the ends. There is a special compartment with a removable battery. Here we can see a white LED strip, which helps the drone to see the obstacle in the dark.
The main case has a JJPRO company logo, while on the back is power button. At the bottom, as usual, there is a camera on the suspension.
The four legs with propellers have bright LED lights. They are necessary for navigation in the dark.
Now let’s look at package contents. Buying a JJRC JJPRO X5 drone, you will get a spare battery, remote control, clip, 4 o-rings, charger, charging adapter, 4 spare propellers, a USB charging cable, an English manual, a screwdriver and a phone holder.
JJRC JJPRO X5: Remote Control
The remote control is made of matte black plastic. It is very pleasant to the touch and lies comfortably in the hands. It has a many buttons and levers to control the drone, such as landing, taking off a drone, recording/stopping video, blocking motors, returning the drone to the take-off location, etc.
There are two long antennas on top of the remote control.
The remote control also has a smartphone holder. There is a small LCD panel, which displays the altitude, range, mode, and more. The signal range of the remote control does not exceed 400 meters.
JJRC JJPRO X5: Functions
JJPRO X5 has a reliable, but very quiet brushless KV 1500 motor. It copes well with heavy loads.
As for the battery, the quadcopter is equipped with a lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 1800mAh. It provides 18 minutes of flight on a single charge. It takes 5 hours to fully charge the battery. By the way, there is a spare battery in the package, so you can launch the drone for 36 minutes.
The quadcopter has a range of about 600 meters; in FPV mode, the maximum distance is 200-300 meters.
The drone has a microSD card slot. Camera records video in Full HD resolution of 1920 x 10180 pixels. The user can take photos and shoot videos from different angles. The adjustment range is from 0 to 90 degrees.
Also, JJRC JJPro X5 is equipped with 6-axis gyroscope, which allows you to shoot incredibly beautiful videos of professional quality.
The automatic height hold and positioning system provides very good drone stability in the air.
JJRC JJPRO X5: Flight Modes
Now let’s take a look at JJRC JJPRO X5 flight modes:
The first mode is called – “Follow Me“. As you understand, this is an automatic user tracking mode. This function is useful in situations where you can not manually control the drone, for example, you are driving a car.
The second mode is “Point of Interest“. Using this mode, you can select the object of interest, whether it is an object or a person, after which the drone will independently circle around the point of your choice without any instructions. This mode is used for selfie video or shooting sights.
The third mode is called RTH (automatic return). This is perhaps the most useful feature for beginners. Now you don’t need to worry that the drone will lose GPS signal in flight. Also, the drone will automatically return to the launch point, when the battery will be discharged.
You can also set a command to go home using the remote control by pressing RTH button. These features are only available in GPS mode.
The fourth mode FPV allows you to broadcast live video in HD resolution from the drone’s camera to the screen of the smartphone.
JJRC JJPRO X5: Application
Before you start using the drone, you need to download a special application on your smartphone. The app is available via QR code in user manual, as well as on Google Play or Apple Store.
As we wrote earlier, the drone records video and photos on a microSD memory card. If you do not use a memory card in the drone, the video will be stored on microSD card of smartphone.
The latest feature of JJRC JJPRO X5 is a powerful LED lamp. Now you can launch drone and shoot video in low light conditions. LED lamps can be clearly seen from afar, so the drone is not lost.
