INMOTION P1F, P2, P2F: What’s The Difference? Compare Electric Bikes 2019

Yesterday we published the first review of new electric bike INMOTION P2. It looks like the best option to move around the city. However, there are other electric bikes from INMOTION, which deserve your attention. We decided to compare INMOTION P1F, INMOTION P2 and the newest bike INMOTION P2F.

Which one should you buy? What’s the difference between INMOTION electric bikes? We compare design, specifications and functions, and find out their features.

INMOTION P1F, P2, P2F: Specifications

Design

INMOTION P1F and P2 have significant differences between them. First, INMOTION P2 has pedals and a chain between the wheels. The first version of INMOTION bike is missing them. It means that you cannot pedal P1F, even when the battery is discharged.

The Chinese manufacturer understood that it is very uncomfortable, so the second generation of electric bike received pedals and chain. INMOTION P2 has new riding modes, but we will talk about them a little later.

Also, the first and second versions of electric bikes have different wheels. INMOTION P1F is equipped with wheels of different diameters – 12-inches front and 10-inches rear. In addition, there are two small steps on the front wheel, where you can put your legs while riding.

INMOTION P2 does not have these steps, because there are pedals, so you can pedal or just put your feet on them, while using fully electric mode. The front and rear wheels of P2 bike are the same – 12-inches.

All three electric bikes from INMOTION have a different weight. The lightest is the first model INMOTION P1F. Its weight is only 14 kg. P2 weighs 17 kg, while the heaviest is R2F – 19.9 kg.

Accordingly, INMOTION P1F received the smallest size. When folded, its dimensions are 900 x 650 x 200 mm; unfolded – 900 x 945 x 480 mm.

INMOTION P2 and P2F models have the same size: folded – 1020 x 670 x 200 mm; unfolded – 1020 x 1050 x 480 mm.

Otherwise, the bikes are similar: folding design, black and gold color, adjustable height seat, two types of lighting, etc.

INMOTION P1F, P2, P2F: functions

All three electric bikes have identical motor power – 350W. It provides a maximum speed of up to 30 km per hour.

If we talk about the maximum mileage, then it is different for every bike. INMOTION P1F has the shortest distance on a single charge. This is not surprising, because it has only one riding mode – fully electric mode. The electric bike rides only using motor power.

INMOTION P2 and P2F have three riding modes: 1) when you pedal yourself, 2) electric bike helps to pedal and 3) fully electric mode. As you understand, using the first two modes you can ride much longer. INMOTION P2 can ride up to 30 km on single charge without the use of pedals, but if you pedal, the distance will increase to 60-70 km.

INMOTION P2F is even more powerful; without pedaling, it can ride as much as 80-100 km, and if you pedal, the distance can be from 160 to 180 km. Great result! P2F has the best mileage from all three bikes.

If you are interested in batteries, then INMOTION P1F and P2 received 36V or 8.7Ah. INMOTION P2F is equipped with 36V or 23.2Ah battery. Thanks to it, the newest electric bike can ride so long on a single charge.

Also, the bikes have different steering wheels, or to be precise, the control levers and buttons.

First, INMOTION P2 and P2F are equipped with a safety lock under the right handle. It will help protect your electric bike from theft. Above it is a small color display, which shows the battery level in green and red. There is no safety lock on P1F.

INMOTION P1F, P2, P2F: Price

Now it’s time to talk about the most important thing – price. You can buy INMOTION P1F for about $649. INMOTION P2 will cost you a hundred dollars more – $759. The most expensive model is INMOTION P2F – its price is $999.

Prices correspond to the features and functions of electric bikes. INMOTION P2F has the longest mileage, and the best features, so it is the most expensive.

Conclusion

So, we compared all three models of electric bikes from INMOTION: P1F, P2 and P2F. They have much in common, and many differences.

As a result, we recommend buying INMOTION P2F, because it has the longest range, but it is also the most expensive and heavy. It will be a great for long trips up to 150-180 kilometers.

The lightest and cheapest is INMOTION P1F. It is perfect for those who want to quickly move around the city, but do not want to pedal.

INMOTION P2 is the golden mean between them. It is powerful enough to ride up to 60-70 km, not too heavy and has an average price. You just need to think about the specs and features are more important for you and choose the best electric bike.
