Hubsan Zino 2 First REVIEW: Is It Better Than DJI Mavic Mini?
Only 2 weeks left until 2020, but Chinese companies continue to release new products. A couple of days ago, Hubsan introduced a new folding drone called Hubsan Zino 2. This is the third Hubsan quadcopter in 2019.
The first Hubsan Zino drone was presented in April 2019, the second one – Hubsan Zino Pro – in September 2019. By the way, we wrote the first review about Hubsan Zino Pro, and you can read it on our website Wovow.org.
Hubsan Zino 2 has a small folding case, a remote control with a digital display, video recording in 4K resolution, a flight range of up to 6 kilometers and a flight time of 33 minutes on a single charge.
Let’s make the first review of Hubsan Zino 2 and look at its design, specifications, features and price.

How Compact Is Hubsan Zino 2?
The new Hubsan Zino 2 drone is very similar to the first Hubsan Zino. It has the same folding case in white matte color with black details. The quadcopter is made of ABS plastic and weighs only 0.9 kg.
Hubsan Zino 2 can be called a compact drone, because when folded, its size is 18 x 10 x 9 cm, and when unfolded – 32 x 26 x 9 cm. You can carry the drone in one hand.
Due to its small size and weight, Zino 2 is very convenient for transportation. It fits in a backpack or small bag.
By the way, you can choose a configuration with a special bag for carrying and storing the drone.
What’s included?
Hubsan Zino 2 is available in four sets. The first set consists of 1 battery, the second set has 2 batteries, while the third one – 1 battery and storage bad. The fourth set has 2 batteries and storage bag. Of course, the price varies from the set. But we will talk about the price later.
Every set also has a drone, a remote control, a power adapter, a charging cable, a battery, 4 spare propellers, a screwdriver and a user manual.
A Closer Look At Hubsan Zino 2
Hubsan Zino 2 is only available in matte white color. On the top panel of the drone there is a large Hubsan logo and model name Zino 2.
On the sides we can see four wings with propellers. Each wing has LED lamps that glow in the dark. They allow you to see the drone at night or in fog.
By the way, the wings are folded, so the drone is very compact.
The battery is located at the bottom. To remote the battery, you need to press special buttons on sides.
There are also another LED lights at the bottom.
On the front panel there is a large camera lens with a viewing angle of 80 degrees. It is rotary, and it is able to rotate not only on the sides, but also up and down.
I like the design of Hubsan Zino 2. It has a simple, but very stylish look. This quadcopter looks expensive.
Now let’s take a closer look at remote control.
Some Words about Remote control
The remote control is also made of white ABS plastic. It is small and comfortable to hold, thanks to the rounded edges.
At the top of remote control there are two folding antennas. They are needed for a better signal with drone.
Near the antennas, there are some additional buttons to control the drone.
At the bottom of the remote control you will find a special mount for smartphone. You can use a smartphone up to 160 mm long and up to 8.5 mm thick.
On the right side of the control panel is a Micro USB port for charging and USB Type-C for connecting a smartphone.
The remote control has a monochrome display. This is a notable update for Hubsan drone. None of the previous drones had a display on remote control.
The display shows flight time, distance, altitude, flight mode, battery level, connection, drone status, etc.
This is really convenient, because all the necessary information about the flight is before your eyes. Now you can watch the video shooting on your smartphone without being distracted by additional parameters and settings.
On the sides of the screen are two joysticks to control the drone. Under the display there are three more buttons – power, return to base and settings.
The maximum distance between the remote control and the drone should not exceed 6 km. Of course, this is not taking into account various obstacles. If the connection between the remote control and the drone is lost, Hubsan Zino 2 will automatically return to the take-off location.
Flight Time, Flight Range and Other Specifications
One of the major improvements of Hubsan Zino 2 over previous Hubsan drones is the increased flight range.
For comparison, Hubsan Zino has a flight range of 2.5 km, Hubsan Zino Pro – 4 km, and the new Hubsan Zino 2 can fly up to 6 km! This is amazing! Of course, 6 km is without any obstacles.
The maximum flight altitude is 500 meters. Operating temperature from 10°C – 40°C.
Hubsan Zino 2 is equipped with an enlarged camera lens size. Why? A large lens captures more light and makes videos and photos of better quality.
As for technical specifications, this is 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with a resolution of 12 MP and an aperture of f/2.2. The viewing angle is 80°.
The camera can shoot video in 4K, 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60 fps. The maximum video speed is 100Mbps.
The drone is equipped with 3-axis gimbal for better stabilization during video shooting. It also supports GPS + GLONASS.
Another nice feature of the new Hubsan Zino 2 drone is the flight time. The quadcopter is equipped with 3800mAh battery. One charge is enough for 33 minutes of flight in calm weather or 32 minutes of freezing in one place. This is a very good result for a compact drone.
Do not forget that you can order Hubsan Zino 2 with an additional battery, and then the flight time increases to 1 hour. Great!
What Is the Price and Where to Buy Hubsan Zino 2?
As for the price, the standard set of Hubsan Zino 2 with 1 battery costs $399.
If you need a storage bag and 1 battery, get ready to pay $429. If one battery is not enough, then you will need to pay $459.
The price of the set with two batteries and a storage bag is $479.
For comparison, the previous Hubsan Zino Pro drone costs $379. The price of the set with a bag and an extra battery is $419.
As you can see, the price is not much different, but Hubsan Zino 2 has a better camera, a larger lens, a remote control with a digital display, a flight range of up to 6 km and a flight time of up to 33 minutes.
We think this is a good price for a drone with folding design, good specifications and features.
