Xiaomi HIMO Z14 First REVIEW: Compact Electric Bike with 90km Range
HIMO Z14 is HIMO’s second electric bike for the last week. I’ve already written about HIMO Z20 before.
The new electric bike HIMO Z14 has a more powerful motor, bigger battery, and more range than HIMO Z20. Also, the design is very different. The new bike is even more compact, and it has an extra seat on the rear wheel.
Okay, let’s talk about features and specifications of the new HIMO Z14.
Folding Design
As I said, HIMO Z14 is very compact electric bike. Its unfolded dimensions are 1057 x 1318 cm, while its folded dimensions are only 817 x 740 cm. Yes, it’s less than a meter per meter in folded form. The manufacturer says that the bike is folded in just 10 seconds.
The weight is 25.3 kg. I agree that it’s not very lightweight, but you don’t need to take the bike up the stairs, because the battery is removable. All you have to do is remove the battery, take it home for charging, and leave the bike in the parking lot. We’ll talk about the battery a little later.
The bike is designed for a maximum weight of 100 kg.
HIMO Z14 is sold in two colors: white and gray. The driver’s seat and additional rear seat are brown.
The new electric bike has LED lantern at the front and parking lights at the rear.
No display on the steering wheel
Interestingly, HIMO Z14 has no display on the steering wheel. Instead, it has a smartphone mount on the steering wheel.
Also, there are buttons for starting the motor, speed change, bell, lights and brake levers on the steering wheel.
The electric bike uses advanced dual brakes and quality tires. The braking distance on dry road is 4 meters, and on wet road – 6 meters.
Powerful motor
By the way, HIMO Z14 got a more powerful motor than the previous version HIMO Z20. The new electric bike has 350W motor.
However, the top speed of the bike has not been increased – 25 km/h.
Two Battery Versions
New electric bike HIMO Z14 comes with two versions of battery. One of them has 12Ah battery, while the other has 15Ah battery.
Accordingly, the bike with a 12Ah battery has a range of 80 km in energy-saving mode, or 60 km in full-electric mode.
If we are talking about a bike with 15Ah battery, it can ride 90 km in eco mode, and 75 km in electric mode.
Price and buy Xiaomi HIMO Z14
HIMO Z14 is cheaper than HIMO Z20, despite a more powerful motor and a larger battery – $380. However, HIMO Z20 has a display on the steering wheel, and it’s probably the only reason why it costs more.
HIMO Z14 is a very interesting budget electric bike. It has a stunning range up to 90 km, removable battery, 25 km/h maximum speed, folding construction and even an extra seat on the rear wheel.
The second seat can be used as a trunk, or for a second passenger. But don’t forget that the bike withstands a maximum weight of 100 kg.
Xiaomi HIMO Z14 can already be ordered on YouPin. The first shipment will start on April 11th. I think very soon the new electric bike will be available at Aliexpress, GearBest, Banggood and other Chinese online shops.
