In Britain production peaked in 2011
The volume of industrial production in the UK in April this year increased by 3%, based on an annual rate, which is the most significant rise in January 2011, confirmed by the data of the National Statistics Office (ONS).
Growth in industrial production on a monthly basis by 0.4%. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg, predicted an increase of the first indicator by 2.8%, the second – by 0,4%. Increasing British production in April is observed the third consecutive month.
Growth in the manufacturing industry in the last month was 4.4% on an annualized basis, up 0.4% compared with March. Analysts on average had expected an increase of 4% and 0.4%.
According to the corrected data, in March, industrial production in the UK rose by 0.1% compared to February and by 2.5% compared with the same period a year earlier. Before announcing the reduction of the former by the 0.1% increase in the second and 2.3%.
Growth rate in the manufacturing industry adjusted to 3.5% from 3.3%.
Electricity production in the country in April rose by 3.7% compared with the previous month and decreased by 11.5% compared to April 2013
In the oil and gas sector output decreased by 2.2% compared to March and increased 2.3% on an annualized basis, mining decreased by 1.1% and increased by 2.2%. Issue of food, beverages and tobacco products declined in April by 0.5% from the previous month.
