Redmi Pro 2 First REVIEW: The First Flagship From Redmi Brand!

In 2016, Xiaomi introduced a mid-range smartphone called Redmi Pro. Many people waited for the release of the second version of smartphone in 2017. When it became clear that it would not happen, we began to wait it in 2018.

Redmi Pro 2: Design

In recent days we have received many leaks about Redmi Pro 2. There is even a render of upcoming device. The image shows a typical Xiaomi smartphone, but with one feature – it has a retractable front camera.

In general, Redmi Pro 2 has similar design to Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, but it comes with triple main camera. The front panel has full bezel-less display. There wouldn’t be any kind of notch, because the smartphone will have retractable front camera.

In the rest, Redmi phone will have the same a glass body and a metal frame. We don’t know about color options, but you can see red-purple version on render. Most likely, the phone will also have black and blue color options.

Redmi Pro 2: Display

The display diagonal of Redmi Pro 2 will be around 6.4-inches. At the same time, the smartphone will be more compact than Redmi Note 7, because of full bezel-less display.

Most likely, the phone will have AMOLED panel and Full HD+ resolution. There is no fingerprint reader on renders, so it can be placed under the display.

Redmi Pro 2: Performance

Redmi Pro 2 will be a flagship smartphone from Redmi brand, so it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Also, there will be 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The smartphone is equipped with USB Type-C port, as well as a 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support.

It is also known that new smartphone will run on Android 9.0 Pie operating system with MIUI 10. Redmi Pro 2 will be one of the first to upgrade to the next version of Android 10 Q.

Redmi Pro 2: Camera

Obviously, new phone will borrow the main camera from Xiaomi Mi 9. We expect 48MP sensor Sony IMX586 in Redmi Pro 2. Also, there will be a wide-angle sensor and lens for double optical zoom. We don’t know their resolution yet.

Many people don’t believe in release of Redmi Pro 2, because there were many fake renders, leaks and rumors about it. However, in 2019 the head of Xiaomi – Lei Zun – showed an unknown smartphone on the table. He held a smartphone with waterdrop notch in the hands – most likely it was Xiaomi Mi 9. Also, there will be a red-colored phone with full bezel-less display. We think it is Redmi Pro 2.

Redmi Pro 2 or Xiaomi Mi 9?

You should understand that Redmi Pro 2 is a flagship smartphone, but it wouldn’t be better than Xiaomi Mi 9. New smartphone from Redmi will definitely be cheaper, so it cannot be better than Mi 9. Nevertheless, the smartphone is promised to be very, very interesting and it will clearly become a bestseller.

Redmi Pro 2: Release date and price

The release date and price of new Redmi smartphone is not known yet. We think that Redmi Pro 2 will be released at the beginning of summer, while the price should be around $350.
