Hardware

M8S PRO L TV Box is equipped with Amlogic S912 chipset. The processor was released in 2016. This is IARMv8 Octa-core processor with two Cortex-A53 clusters. The clock speed of the individual clusters is up to 1.5 GHz.

The processor supports the decoding of H.265, H.264 and VP9 at maximum 4K resolution. In addition, the chipset is able to process HDR10 and HLG HDR content. The processor graphics are Mali-T820 MP3 GPU.

As for the memory, Mecool M8S PRO L TV Box is equipped with 16GB or 32GB eMMC flash memory. This is not too much, although there is 3GB of RAM. Also Mecool has decided to use DDR4 RAM, which is much faster than DDR3 RAM, used in the previous model. The connection options are following: CVBS port, RJ45 Ethernet port, HDMI 2.0, two USB 2.0 portsand a MicroSD memory card slot. As for wireless connections, there is dual band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 are available for data transfer.

Software

New TV Box runs on Android TV (7.1.1). There are few apps preinstalled, as well as other apps can be downloaded from Google Play Store or other markets.
