5 Reasons NOT To Buy Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro
Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro is a true flagship killer in 2020, because it has the most powerful Snapdragon 865 processor, and offers the best price/quality ratio. In addition, the new Xiaomi smartphone has an excellent battery life and high-quality camera.
However, there is no perfect smartphone. Each mobile device has its advantages and disadvantages. Moreover, perhaps some advantages for you are disadvantages for me, and vice versa.
Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro is no exception, so I decided to share with you three reasons that may make you change your mind about buying this smartphone.

1. Good camera, but doesn’t have OIS
The new smartphone POCO F2 Pro has a stunning camera, especially for its price. The smartphone has four sensors on the rear panel. The main sensor is 64-megapixel Sony IMX686, which takes great images.
However, the main camera smartphone has no optical image stabilization (OIS). Why does it matter? Optical stabilization is important for taking quality night photos as well as record smooth video.
Of course, Xiaomi has added electronic stabilization and it does a good job, but electronic stabilizer is still better.
Now do you understand why Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro is cheaper than other flagships on the market? Due to such insignificant details, a Chinese manufacturer managed to reduce the price of smartphone.
2. It’s a Very Heavy Smartphone
Looks like Xiaomi keeps making heavy smartphones. Moreover, POCO F2 Pro weighs even more than Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. The weight of the new smartphone is 218 grams.
For comparison, below you can see the weight of the main competitors of Poco F2 Pro:
- POCO F2 Pro: 218 grams;
- Xiaomi Mi 10 / Mi 10 Pro: 208 grams;
- OnePlus 8: 180 grams;
- OnePlus 8 Pro: 199 grams;
- Samsung Galaxy S20+: 188 grams.
If you’re spending a lot of time with smartphone in your hand, like playing games or sitting on social media, you should pay attention to the weight.
3. 60 Hz Display Refresh Rate
The next reason why you shouldn’t buy POCO F2 Pro is the display refresh rate – only 60 Hz. Yes, the smartphone comes with a great AMOLED screen, but in 2020 most flagships have 90 Hz or even 120 Hz screen refresh. For example, the flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 has 90Hz display.
Last year or even a few months ago I wouldn’t have noticed the screen refresh rate in a smartphone, but in 2020 almost every flagship has a higher screen refresh rate than POCO F2 Pro.
4. 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM
It is interesting that the version of Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro with 6 GB RAM comes with LPDDR4X RAM, while 8 GB version has a newer LPDDR5 memory. Why is that? Probably, the manufacturer decided to save even more money on the basic version of the smartphone.
5. No built-in stereo speakers
Unfortunately, Poco F2 Pro comes with only one speaker. If you often watch movies, listen to music or play games on smartphone, you should pay attention to the mobile devices with stereo speakers.
They offer a completely different experience with your smartphone. Sound quality is much better. Unfortunately, new Xiaomi Poco smartphone can’t boast of that.
Is it worth buying POCO F2 Pro?
As a conclusion, I want to say that Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro is still one of the best smartphones of 2020 for me. It keeps a perfect balance between specifications and price.
Even despite the shortcomings I talked about in this article, the smartphone has many useful features. I still recommend buying Poco F2 Pro.
